Jack Overgard
Jack K. Overgard, 69, Omaha, died soon after arrival at an Omahahospital Monday of an apparent heart attack. Overgard was food service director at Mercy Hospital for about 10years before his retiring. He was also a former chef at the Club 64. He was born in Beatrice, Neb., and was a World War II veteran. He was a member of St. John's Lodge 25, AF& York and ScottishRites; was director of the Directors Staff of Tangier Shrine; memberof Knights Templar; the National Arctic Knights of the Blue Nose; andAmerican Legion Post 373 at Ralston. Survivors include his wife, Helen; three sons, Richard ofWarrenton, Va., Jack of Dayton, Ore., Jerry, stationed in Belgium withthe U. S. Army; six daughters, Janet Clevenger of Dayton, Ore., JudyGroth, Salem, Ore., Joann Eggers, McMinnville, Ore., Vicki Saundersand Roberta Overgard, both of Council Bluffs, and Jesse Beall ofOmaha; 28 grandchildren; a brother Adres (sic) of Lovington, N. M.;sister, Mary Louise Norman of Beatrice, Neb.. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Fitch and Cole Mortuaryin Omaha. Grave side services will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday at EvergreenHome Cemetery at Beatrice, Neb..
