Apprenticed as Baker and Pastry Maker in Küstrin-Kietz and then worked as journeyman in Wittenberg where he met his future wife. In 1936 he joined the German Railway, spent the war years in France supervising the railway operations in Limoges and Nice. Worked with the French Resistance to help them in their fight against the Nazis. Briefly in the Army from late 1944 to the collapse.
Rejoined the German Railway in 1945 in Annaburg in the then Soviet Zone. Operated as informant for the Berlin based CIA, was betrayed by his CIA-contact in East Germany. Managed to talk himself free and fled with his family to West-Berlin. They finally settled in Duisburg, NRW, DE. After initally working in a steelmill he re-joined the West-German railway and retired in 1971.

Bäcker und Konditor Lehre in Küstrin-Kietz. Dann Geselle in Wittenberg. Wechselte zur Deutschen Reichsbahn in 1936. Während der Kriegsjahre in Frankreich in Limoges und Niza mit der Reichsbahn. Informierte den französichen Widerstand gegen die Nazis. Eingezogen zur Wehrmacht in 1944 bis zum Zusammembruch. Trat der Deutschen Eisenbahn wieder bei in 1945, erst in Annaburg, SA, DE. War Informant für die CIA in West-Berlin gegen die Sowjets. Wurde von seinem Kontaktman verraten, aber konnte sich heraus reden und dann nach Berlin flüchten. Von Berlin setzte er sich mit der Familie Familie in Duisburg, NRW, nieder. Arbeitete anfangs in einem Stahlwerk und trat dann der deutschen Bundesbahn wieder bei. Pensioniert von der Bundesbahn in 1971.
