Welcome to The McMicking Family Tree
Fàilte is "Olde Gaelic" and means "welcome". It
originated in Ireland and was used throughout Ireland and Scotland
until the 11th century when it evolved into "Middle English".
Historically, the last place this language was spoken was in the
region of Carrick in Scotland circa 1085. These were
the lands occupied by the McMicking family ancestors - Clan
MacMiadhachain (the MacMahuns, the MacMichans and the
MacMickins).
The McMicking family has a rich and vibrant history with
significant records dating back as far as the 13th century in
Ayrshire, Scotland. During the 1700's many Scots and Brits
immigrated to the New World of America and later to the South Seas
and Australia.
