Major Aide With Galvez During The American Revolution

After the death of Nicholas and before July 1780, his widow accompanied by her minor children and the two older daughters who married the Roy brothers moved to and settled in the " La Prarie Basse" area of Opelousas Post . Public documents dated July 6, 1780 show that the widow of Nicholas Bordelon I - received a quit claim from the husbands of her four married daughters in acknowledgement of receipt of their share of the succession of Nicholas Bordelon I. In November 1782, Adrienne Rodnot completed the partition of the succession by selling slaves to raise cash for the portions due her minor sons, Nicholas II, Hypolite, and Michel. Adrienne relinquished her responsibilities as tutrix of these children. Joseph Roy and Noel Roy were elected tutor and surrogate tutor, respectively.
