Obituary - Sylvester Joseph Sittler, son of the late Reuben Sittler, died Monday evening at the home of his granddaughter, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Snyder, at New Tripoli, of complications of diseases, aged 72 years, 8 months and 6 days. For many years he was a farmer, but for the past nine years was night telephone operator at the New Tripoli exchange. He was married twice. His first wife, Emma Snyder, preceded him in death thirty-five years ago. Later Mr. Sittler married Mary Loy, who preceded him in death three years ago. The following children survive: Mrs. George A. Krause, New Tripoli; Fred Sittler, this city; Mrs. Fred Grim, this city; Mrs. John Kurtz, Bethlehem; also the following step-children: James Loy, New Tripoli; Herbert Loy, this city; Mrs. Annie Metzger, New Tripoli and Mrs. George Nuss, this city. Nineteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren and one brother, James Sittler, New Tripoli, survive. Funeral services will be held from the home of his granddaughter, Mrs. Paul Snyder, New Tripoli, Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock. Short services and burial at the New Tripoli church. Rev. A. O. Ebert officiating.
