Merci pour votre visite, car nous aussi nous sommes liés. Mes années de recherche d'ancêtres, de l'origine et du sens du nom de famille sont devenues une entreprise passionnée. Une référence tangible au plus ancien homonyme, je l'ai trouvé à Athènes dans le Musée archéologique: Sopatros BILLION a remporté la course des Oplites pendant les Jeux Helléniques en l'an 184. Il était originaire de Nikaia, une ville qui appartenait au « KOINON des BILLIONs ». Leur magnifique capitale était BYLLIS, située sur une colline de 531 mètres de haut au-dessus de la rivière Vjosa dans l'Albanie actuelle, entre Apolonia et Butrint, à peine 18 km de l'Adriatique.

Thank you very much for your visit, because we are related. My years of searching for ancestors and relatives and for the origin and meaning of the family name became a passionate undertaking. A tangible reference to the oldest namesake, I found in Athens in the Archaeological Museum: Sopatros BILLION won the cross of the 'Hoplites'  during the Pan-Hellenic Games in the year 184. He was originally from Nikaia, a city that belonged to the "KOINON of the Billions". Their wonderful capital was BYLLIS, situated on a 531 meter high hill above the Vjosa River in present-day Albania, between Apolonia and Butrint, at barely 18 km from the Adriatic sea.
