Notes
Individual Note
Many genealogies report on Vison/Vincent and his family, and most have his parents and earlier generatoins. One great defect of most of these genealogies is the lack of documentation and sourcing information.
There are some meager records, and almost knnown connecting generatoins and confirming Vinson/Vincent's parrents. Most references, including the 1830 census and his grave and burial memorial information, have his name as Vinson. Some records, including the 1840 census and some genealogies, report him as Vincent.
The 1830 census for Greenville County, South Carolina, reports many Jenkins heads of households on the same page, most of them contiguous. It appears these are all one family.
The two oldest Jenkinses listed are Owin Jenkins and Rolly Jenkins, both aged between 50 and 60. There is one male in Owin's household in the 20-30 year range. Benjamin Jenkins is in the age group 40 to 50. Craven and Rubin are aged 30-40. Vincent (Vinson), Owin Jr and Simon Jenkins are in the age group 20 to 30.
Some genealogies report that Vinson's father was Rolly or Raleigh Jenkins, but I have seen no documentation on these trees, nor found any myself. Rolly's will names only one child, his son Pleasans. He refers to his other children only in directing that the remainder of his estate be divided amonst his children and grandchildren. Rolly's burial memorial on Find a Grave is not lnked to any spouses or children.

Additional Jenkins heads of families on this page:
Craven, Rubin, Owin & Owin Jr, Rolly, Simon, Benjamin
From the reported age ranges, Rolly, Benjamin and Owin could be brothers. But genealogies I have referenced do not report a brother or son of Rolly named Benjamin. One or more of the younger men may be younger brothers of the older two or three. We may conclude that Owin Jr is the son of Owin. However, most genealogies report Owen and the son of Vinson/Vincent. Records before the 1850 census provide limited information anyway in most states. We need records to confirm the relationships within this Jenkins clan.
I have seen anomalies in various genealogies, most of which have no documentation. Most of the genealogies are just repeating other genealogies. Some have glimmers of sources or clues. Several report Owen as a son of Rolly, but have no brother of Rolly or other Jenkins named Owen. One very detailed report form some genealogy was posted on a comment on Ancestry, but the writier is unidentified and the source is not reported. so it provides only clues.
Vincent, in the same age range as Owin Jr, could be a brother or a cousin, the latter consistent with the report that Rolly was Vincent's father. The genealogies seem pretty consistent on the children of Rolly and three wives. Children were reported from his second and third marriages. The number of chidlren makes me wary and somewhat suspicious, lacking firm records.
However in general the lists are consistent and can provide clues and some guidance in reconstruction. The tidbits of information indicating apporoximate dates and sequence of birth can give us some confidence in piecing together the parents and siblings of Vinson.
We indicated that most genealogies report that Rolly (Raleigh) was the father of Vinson Jenkins. There is a memorial on Find a Grave reporting that Rolly Jenkins is buried in Traveler's Rest in what is reported as the Jenkins Family Cemetery, but his is the only memorial on Find a Grave for that cemetery. He was probably buried on the family land, where we find so many cemeteries of that era.
