   The early Eller family of North Carolina is believed to have been founded by Jacob, Christian , and Melchior Eller, who left their homes in the Palatinate area of Germany between 1745 an d 1750 and emigrated to Pennsylvania where a brother, George and other kin had settled previo usly. (James a. Hook).
   Migrated to Rowan County, NC about 1754.
   1761 Dec 31 Land deed in Rowan County, NC Deed Book 5, PP 36-37.
   1782 May 7 Will probated. Written 12 Apr 1782.
   1782 May 7 the will of Jacob Eller was probated in Rowan County, NC. Jacob refers to Jake a s "my eldest son" and gives him the responsibility of keeping the chest and clothing of his s tep mother Barbary Eller, to give to the 2 children of Barbary. Jacob's will also refers to t he sum of 14 pounds previously given him and ÙS22 pounds hard money in silver or gold to be pa id to the others of my children. If my son, Jacob Eller, does not agree to give the said su m for a certain improvement that was formerly his property and sold me, the said place must b e sold as the other part of my estate.
