{British Isles 742-1499}

Isabel was born about 1233 (age 53 in 1285). She was the daughter and sole heiress of Sir William de Aubeney of Belvoir, son of the Magna Carta Surety, by his wife Isabel _____.''Magna Carta Ancestry'' by Douglas Richardson
Isabel died on 15 June 1301 and was buried at Newstead Priory near Stamford, Lincolnshire.
The name of her burial place was the Priory of Newstead by Stamford -at the River Wass between Uffington and Stamford, Lincolnshire. The priory appears to have been demolished in the 16th century Dissolution of the Monasteries. A previous search for it led to Lincolnshire Archives where an e-mail was received on March 5, 2010 from Cynthia Jolly with the Archives who stated "..a search of our index and catalogues did not show any modern results for Newstead Priory, Stamford. I can only assume that it has completely disappeared."
Between 5 June 1243 and 17 May 1244 she married Sir Robert de Ros of Helmsley.
They had 5 sons[ Marlyn Lewis], citing Richardson and CompletePeerage

  • Sir William. 1st Baron
  • Sir Robert
  • John
  • Nicholas (a cleric)
  • Peter (a cleric)
    and 3 daughters
  • Isabel, wife of Walter, 2nd Lord Fauconberg
  • Joan, wife of John, 1st Lord Lovel
  • Mary, wife of Sir William, 1st Lord Braose
