Wayne A. Thompson

WHITSETT, N.C. / formerly ELROY, Wisconsin.
Wayne A. Thompson, 65, died Tuesday, November 19, 2002, at the Southern Regional Medical Center in Riverdale, Ga. He was born on January. 18, 1937, in Vernon County, Wisconsin., to Russell and Beulah (Vieth) Thompson. A longtime resident of North Carolina and Georgia for the past 30 years, Wayne traveled the east coast of the USA dealing in rare books and antiques. He graduated from Elroy High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1958 until 1961.
Survivors include a son, Steve. (Vivian) Thompson of Cadott, Wisconsin.; two daughters; Cynthia (Terrance) Harper of Lithonis, Ga., and May Ellen Thompson of Siler City, N.C.; three grandchildren; his mother, Beulah Thompson of Elroy; one brother, Dale (Mary Jo) Thompson of El Paso, Texas; and one sister, Suann (Arnie) Degenhardt of Norwalk, Wisconsin.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 23, 2002, at 1 P.M. at Picha Funeral Home, Elroy, with the Rev. Blake Overlien officiating. Burial will follow in the Millards Prairie Cemetery, rural Elroy. Friends may call at Picha Funeral Home, Elroy, on Saturday from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M.

Family Note

Marriage with Denise Campbell:
In the late spring early summer, while Wayne was undergoing Radiation Treatment for Cancer, Denise packed a number of items, took the truck and car and left him.
