Louisa’s maiden name is sometimes shown as Gisclair, but she is proven to be a Gulbeau or Guibery in the 1850 and 1880 censuses:
1850 United States Federal Census Home in 1850: Barataria, Jefferson, Louisiana Household Members: Name Age P. J. Guibery 48, head, Seaman, b. in France Michalla 20, F, b. in Mexico Genevieve 5/12, F J. Rochelle, 30, M. Sailor, b. in France L. Guibery 11, M Eugenie 10, F Pierre 8, M Annette 7, F
It is uncertain if P. J. Guibery is Louisa’s father; she isn’t shown with this family (she would have been six years old in 1850), but there is undoubtedly a relationship.
(Also, they are living next to the family of Clemence Terrebonne, Louisa’s future mother-in-law)
1880 United States Federal Census Home in 1880: Cheniere Caminada, Jefferson, Louisiana Household Members: Name Age Raymond Terrebonne 35, head Louise Terrebonne 36, wife Annette Terrebonne 9, dau Rema Terrebonne 7, dau Julien Terrebonne 4, son Gerazim Terrebonne 2, son Julien Guibaud 20, bro in law
