Individual Note

Religion: Jewish
Known after immigration as Samuel Scavron. His immigration record lists his birthplace as "Wetonba," Russia -- the handwriting is difficult to read. His brother Henry's immigration record says his birthplace is "Vichonki," Russia.

He came to the United States aboard a ship on the Rotterdam line. Samuel and Isaac worked together as shoemakers, and lived on Springwood Avenue, Asbury Park, New Jersey. Later their brother Henry joined them. The family left Asbury Park in 1932 for the Bronx.

Samuel and Jennie (Bialis) Scavron are buried in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, New York City, in a section originally purchased by the Kroker Benevolent Association.
