Thomas (T.J.) was a day laborer and a trapper of wild animals. In 1900,he lived in the Sacramento River Twp (Shasta Co.), by 1914 he had movedto Kennet, Shasta Co. In 1925, Thomas and Mulvena were married in theFirst Methodist Church in Yreka. Following a short honeymoon spent inDunsmuir, the couple returned to Kennett. T.J. had quite a head for figures. They used to play a game calledRailroad where you added and subtracted verbally. He was very good atit.
He read a lot, especially the bible. The children always went to SundaySchool but they didn't belong to any special religion.
T.J. was very strict and he thought that everybody ought to work hard. Alot of it was his age --times were tough. These are my impressions,Nelda said he wasn't that way.
He played the violin by ear and would play for dances and for anybody whowanted to listen.
T.J. turned grey early. This runs in the family. - Mona Lockhart Moore,1996
