Notes individuelles

Charlotte left this mortal life during the early morning hours of Monday, September 17, 2012, in the company of her loving family, at the home of her daughter in Richmond, Virginia, after a brief battle with a painful injury.
Born in Germany to Georg and Berta (Bauer) Moschansky. Charlotte and her first husband, Herr Walter Bellinghoven, had one child, Axel, whom she raised on her own, after she divorced his father. During WWII, Charlotte and Axel became refugees and were forced to travel around Germany and Switzerland seeking shelter and food where ever she could find it, sometimes having to resort to various means to provide the most basic of survival rations. She and her son emigrated to America after World War II. A resident of Arlington, Virginia for more than 50 years, 41 of which she worked at the Old Dominion/First Virginia Bank on Columbia Pike, near her home, helping customers with new accounts and other administrative needs. An animal lover of all spicies, most especially dogs, she raised funds to support the Arlington Animal Shelter, being named their Top Fundraiser several times. She enjoyed her flower gardening, knitting, travelling and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed sharing lovingly selected treats from local bakeries with friends and neighbors. An active and supporting member of the Washington Sangerbund and the Concord Club, she enjoyed participating in their German heritage concerts, Fashings, meetings and trips. Her enjoyment of travelling took her back to Europe several times, up and down the east coast states during the more temperate seasons, across America and Canada and to many of the Caribean islands and nations. During her trips back to Germany, she would make her rounds, visiting with all her extended family whom she loved so much.

Charlotte is preceeded in passing by her two husbands, her parents and brothers. She is survived by her loving children, their spouses, grandchildren, their spouses and great-grandchildren, many close friends and neighbors. Her lively, happy outlook and kindness brought warm smiles to all she met and will be sorely missed. Charlotte was reunited with her husband Walter at Arlington National Cemetery on 1 December 2012.
