Veteran's Name: J.T. Upshaw. Pensioner: J.T. Upshaw, Shelby Co, AL. Military Record: Private, Co "K", 30th GA Regt. Enlisted in 1861, Cedar Creek District, Georgia; discharged on 15 May 1865. Wounded at Jonesboro, GA, in left knee and ankle, which now disables him. 28 Jun 1904; 62 years old. Witnesses: B/F. McGee, W.T. Stamps. Property: 100 acres of land in Shelby County, "old land, worn out and worthless; could be sold for $100", 1 horse ($70), 1 cow ($10), household and kitchen furniture ($20).
Pension application dated 4 Feb 1913: J.T. Upshaw states he is over 70 years old; he was born in Coweta Co, GA, 6 Jun 1841. Witnessed by Joe S. Bird.
