Services for Virlyn Moore Motes, president of V&V Sales Co., will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Spring Hill, burial in Smyrna Cemetery.

Mr. Motes, an Army veteran of World War II who was the recipient of the Cross of Military Service from the United Daughters of the Confederacy, died Tuesday. He resided at 3970 South Atlanta Road in Smyrna.

Surviving are his widow, the former Nelle Birmingham of Smyrna; daughter, Mrs. Larry J. [sic, G.] Turner of Austell; son, J. V. Michael Motesof Smyrna; brothers, Vernon M. Motes of Kennesaw and Capt. John L. Motes of Atlanta.

Virlyn M. Motes

Funeral for Virlyn Moore Motes, 53, of 3970 South Atlanta Road, Smyrna, was held Wednesday at Spring Hill, with burial in Smyrna Cemetery. The Rev. William Roane officiated.

Motes, president of V&V Sales Co., died Tuesday. He was a member of Collins Memorial Methodist Church and an Army veteran of World War II.

Surviving are the widow, the former Nelle Birmingham; a daughter, Mrs.Larry J. [sic, G.] Turner of Austell; a son, J. V. Michael Motes of Smyrna; brothers, Vernon M. Motes of Kennesaw and Capt. John L. Motes, and four grandchildren.
