Lavina was a sister of Abigal, the wife of Philemon Wright of Wobourn, MA. They emigrated to Canada in 1800. (see notes under John Allen - 1773-1836). 1846 - Pg. 226 of Anson Gard's "Pioneers of the Upper Ottawa" "Mrs. John Allen, who it is claimed was the first woman to set foot on Hull soil, when the Wright colony landed in 1800, was chosen to break the bottle of champagne at the christening of the Emerald." (an iron steamship that sailed the Ottawa from Aylmer to Chats Falls, Pontiac County). This was in 1846. She would have been 76 years old at this time. This event occurred just one year before her death.
