Listed as heir at law in her father's estate papers and rec'd $ 142.00.

February 27, 1896 Preshey Turner aged 78, resident of Glassy Township (South Carolina) declares that the soldier's previous wife was dead before her marriage to him, that she was present when she died, and that the previous wife was her own sister. She Married the soldier on 10, June 1837 before Zedoc Westmoreland, Esq., who afterwards moved to the west and died. The witnesses to the marriage are dead and, as there was no license law in the state, she has no way of proving her marriage except for the bible record that reads: "Jonathan Turner was married to Preshey Rhodes the 10th day of June 1837)

To Caroline Mullinax and Hiram Mullinax, her husband, John Turner, Heir of Eleander Howard, deceased, Emeline Anders and George Anders, Jonathan Turner, Franklin Turner, Sarah Ann Simmons and Joseph Simmons, Elizabeth Turner, Rhodes Turner, Simon Turner, Polly Ann Turner, Prisshey Ann Turner, Lucinda C. Turner, and Hulda Ann Turner, Legal heirs and representatives of JONATHAN TURNER, who died intestate, Greetings: You are hereby required to appear at this Court of Ordinary, to be holden at Greenville Court House, For Greenville District, on the Eighteenth day of November, A.D. 1859, to show cause, if any you can why the real estate of JONATHAN TURNER deceased situated in the said district on waters of South Tyger River, bounded by lands of F.H. Fuller, W.W. Robertson, Dennis Pitman and others, and containing three hundred and fifteen acres, more or less, should not be divided or sold allotting to the said Presshey Turner one third thereof and the remaining two thirds, in equal portions to the said Heirs above.
