As a girl, Aagot lived at Fosgwinckelsgade 55 with her parents and siblings. She was living at Engen 54 when she left for America. Today the address is 13 Teatergarten. This is the house where her children (except for Richard who was born in America) were born. It was also at one time the home of her mother's parents Olava Tronstad and Amund Vikor. The house today is a historic landmark and has appeared on a postcard. It is located near the National Theater in Bergen.
Aagot and her three oldest children entered the U.S. at Ellis Island on Ship Bergensfjord. She came From Bergen but sailed From Kristiana, Akershus, Norway. They originally settled in Baltimore before moving to Philadelphia.
Other spellilngs of her name in records include Aagot (Agot) Jacobine (Jakobine) Jacobsen (Jakobsen). According to her baptismal record, her family was living at Sydnæsgaden 10 at the time of herbaptsim.
