Services for John Woodrow Beard , 67, Garland, formerly of Frankston are scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday in the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Frankston with the Rev. Claude Hines officiating. Burial will be in the Frankston City Cemetery.
Mr. Beard died Thursday night in a Garland hospital.
He was born Aug. 31, 1920 in Frankston and lived in Garland two years. He was an accountant in the auto industry. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He was a member of the Axe Memorial Methodist Church in Garland.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Rachel Beard of Garland; one son, Frank Beard of Houston; one daughter, Mrs. Sylvia Sue Lipscomb of Garland; one sister, Mrs. Eleanor Lehman of Corpus Christi; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; two nieces; and two nephews.
