Hazel M. Peterson, 89, of Janesville, died on June 30, 2011, at Evansville Manor with her children by her side. She was born in Janesville on February 23, 1922, the daughter of Harvey and Lillian (Barriage) Wilcox. She graduated from Janesville High School and had been a Janesville resident all of her life and lived in the home she was born in until moving to Evansville Manor in 2010. He impressed her with his positive outlook, sense of humor, dance steps, and introduced her to the Big Band entertainers that chartered their buses. They were married on December 16, 1947, and he preceded her in death on December 23, 1986. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a volunteer for ECHO. She loved old country Gospel Music, going to breakfast, watching the Badgers, Packers and the Brewers, reading novels, sewing, and gardening. She was very proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Hazel is survived by her six children; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and four siblings: Frank, Howard, Ruth and Vera. A Mass of Christian Burial July 7, 2011, at ST. MARY'S CATHOLIC CHURCH with Rev.
