Berengaria of Leon, m. as 3rd wife, Jean de Brienne, b. ca. 1168, d. 21 Mar 1237, King of Jerusalem, 1210-1215, Emperor of Constantinople, Crusader. Jean de Brienne was younger son of Erard II, Count of Brienne (who fought inthe 3rd Crusade, being killed at Acre, 8 Feb 1191), by Agnes de Montfaucon (m. 1166), daughter of Richard II, Count of Montbeliard. Jean de Brienne m. (1) 15 Sep 1210, Mary, daughter of Conrad de Montferrat, by wife Isabel,daughter of Amaury I, King of Jerusalem. He became King of Jerusalem by Election of the Barons, in right of his wife, who died shortly leaving a daughter and heiress, in whose right he reigned; m. (2) 1214, Stephanie, daughter andheir of Leo II, King of Armenia, who dsp. 1219. On the marriage of his daughter Yolande, he returned to Europe; m.
